Hello I am back ...............

Sorry i haven't been around for  while i had a bit of a month,  first Dad went into hospital and i had to go and feed his cat everyday & also visit him which was taking up an extra hour or so a day..

Then i managed to crash and write off my car,
so having to rely on public transport meant i was leaving home at 7 and get home at nearly 8...
and time i had done tea etc,  i was too tired to do much else !!

But all seems back to normal,  Dad is back home
and i have a new car...   :-)

Well must start on and catch up on some DT postings

You're a star

This week at Creative Moments our sponsor is
The Theme is
Anything Goes/For the boys

I choose the surfer image.
I used the colours i always use for skin and hair
(Hair :  Tan,  Gold  &  Pastel Yellow
Skin :  Satin, Almond, & Vanilla)

I decided to just use a few colours for the image itself.I choose just two, lipstick red and azure
The surf board was just three sections, but didn't like the plainness,
so added a few patterns (you know how i try and include some zentagle in my creations!!)

Once i had coloured the image, i matted it onto a piece of black card.
I then cut two pieces of paper to mat and layer it over.
to finish it off i cut out a You're a star sentiment (tonic),
and matted it on to another piece of contrasting paper.

Book mark

At Brown Sugar Challenge
this week our sponsor is

And the theme is Bookmarks.

I decided to use the little girl reading a book.

I started by taking some small "pages" of a book - small sections cut from an old book,
on to an A5 card blank
I then i had to decide on which colours to use.

I currently make cards to send to sick children (Postal Pals),
so i looked for someone who likes to read,
and as one of their favourite colours is purple,
i went with shades of purple.

I wasn't sure how to make the image into a bookmark,
so i printed out the image bigger,  so i could make a bookmark out of just the pencil.

I used the following colours:
Purple, Lilac, Orchid, Lavender,
Amethyst & Plum.

The hair and skin colours are the usual ones i use.
(Hair :  Tan,  Gold  &  Pastel Yellow
Skin :  Satin, Almond, & Vanilla)

Once i coloured the image i mounted it on to 3 different shades of purple.
Then on mounted it onto the card blank with foam tape,
so i could create a pocket to put the bookmark in.

I hope my intended recipient  will love this card and find the bookmark useful.

I hope you like my creation
And hope you come back and visit my blog soon

The dress was just orchid.

To finish off the card i mounted it on to a piece of purple (hunkydory card).

I then die cut 3 x frond finesse flourishes and a with love sentiment (both tonic)

Postal Pals

I recently signed up on Facebook to Jellypark Post pals Club:

"We want you to have fun crafting with our images and then put your creations to a special use! We KNOW you love to make cards and we KNOW the children at Post Pals love getting cards from all around the world. Start sending cards to children on Post Pals' list and for being so lovely you will start earning extra free exclusive stamps from us.
To start, just post a message on our wall to say you would like to take part. We will then send you your first free stamp to craft with via private message here on Facebook."

You ask what is Postal Pals...  if you go to  their webpage:  (http://www.postpals.co.uk/)
You can find out more info,  this is an extract from their main page:
"Post Pals, is a charity helping you to ‘Post a Smile on a Sick Child’s Face’ by the sending of cards, letters, emails and little gifts to seriously ill children and their siblings. It couldn't be easier for anyone of any age to get involved, requires no commitment and costs only a stamp and 5 minutes of your time."

The first Digi image i  received was the one below.
Before i could start I  went to the website and decide who i was going to send my first card to,
I decide to send mine to Anna-Mae C

As Anna-Mae C  favorite colour is Red,
I choose  various shades of Red and Pink to colour the image
Berry Red, Poppy, Lipstick Red,
Carmine, Cerise and Baby Pink.

Once i had coloured the image I looked for papers withe red in them.
I matted the coloured image onto a piece of red card, and also looked for a red card to use as a base.
I then matted the red spotty paper on to the front of the card.
Then added a piece of word paper and the bottom of the card.
To fill the gap at the side i dug out some embellishments.
It still seems a bit bare by the image, so i decided to cut a sentiment out of  red card,
I choose "make a wish"  die from my tonic dies.

Now I just need to write a note to put inside and then i can mail it to her.

I hope you like this card
Why not join us and send cards to these poorly children.

Brown Sugar 23rd may

Over at Brown Sugar Challenges this week our sponsor is

I choose an images of some houses.
I decided it would make a great new home card.

when i had coloured the image it looked a bit "flat",
so i decided to do a squeeze type card.
I then coloured the image again, and this time cut it into three.
I mounted the first image onto a piece if coloured paper.

To colours i used for the image were:
Cyan, Pastel Blue, & Cool Aqua
Grass,  Cool Grey & Cinnamon.

To make the squeeze bit  (Front panel ) I
cut a a piece of card that was a wide as the image plus 6 cms, and 5cms deep.
I scored the ends at 1,2 & 3cms in from each end,
the last bit became the tab to attach to the back of the card.
And cut an extra strip (bar) but only 1 cm at each end, this becomes the bit the bigger of the houses is attached to and is attached to the side bits.

Once i had attached the "squeezey" bit,  I then matted the image on to the back of the card,
The matted some of the matching backing papers to the front panel.
and then stuck the big house to the bar, and the other two to the front, of the card.

I decided it need something else  so i drew a path on to the a piece of card.
I wasn't sure how to colour it etc,  and in the end decided on zen-tangling it.

Hope you like my creation

Over at Creative Moments
this week our sponsor is
Angies Digis

I choose:
I choose Octopus with Bows

And the theme is
Use Twine

Again i did two and couldnt decide which one to post, so i posted both!!

The first one i did was with the green garden twine
I wasnt sure what colours to use,  so i decided to zentangle the image
and just colour a few of the spots and the bows,  i coloured both with Apple.
I mounted the image on to a piece of green card and then covered the card with a piece
of coloured Kay & co scrapbook paper.
I painted the twine with PVA and then wrapped it around a brush handle, to get it to twist.
When it was dry i stuck it on with some silicone glue.
To finish i added a sentiment strip.

My second i decided to colour the image with
Grass green and coloured the bows with poppy
I then wrapped a net that came with one of my wigs around it
(for the twine element).
I mounted it on to a piece of blue card and the a piece if pattern blue paper.
To finish it off i added some die cut shells and a sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by

Arbymiran

This week at Creative Moments our sponsor is
ArtByMiran

The theme was bingo
we had to choose from the table below:
I choose Flower, Sentiment & more than 2 layers

My image is Miss Daisy
I couldn't decide which colour to do, pink or blue,
so i did both !!

I used the same colours for the skin tones and hair
Satin, Almond & Vanilla
Tan,  Gold & Pastel Yellow

For the "Flowers / Dress" I used
Pearl Blue & China Blue  &
Cerise & Baby Pink

With both images i matted them on a piece of black card.

The flower on the blue card was white, i used a distress ink (storny sky) to colour it
and then used silicone to stick it to the front of the card
and finished the card with a sentiment

For the pink flower i used a pearly brad to join to paper flowers together,
the sentiment was cream,  so i coloured it with Cerise pro-marker.

Rick St Dennis

Brown sugar challenge   25th April

This weeks sponsor is :

The image i choose was my little chickadee

I wasn't sure what colours i was going to use,
i decided not to go down the traditional Easter colours.
as the image said Easter to me.

I selected a few pastel colours for the egg and browns for the bird.

I used apricot, pale blue and pale pink & caramel  & tan
plus grass for the grass !

I found a sheet of double sided card that worked for the image and cut it in half so i could use both sides.
I cut a piece big enough for the image, then i cut the other piece so it would matt on to the A5 card blank.
I decided to matt both of them on to  a piece of silver mirror board,  I cut a piece big enough to fit the larger bit,  then  gutted the middle so i had a bit to matt on to the smaller bit.

Then i die cut a "tree of wonder"  tattered lace die to add at the side.
To finish off the card i used a piece of the doubled sided card that was left over and also mounted it on to silver mirror card, and added a piece of a sentiment strip.

Hope you like my creation

Brown Sugar Bugaboo Tulip Egg

I am please to announce i have been invited to join the Brown Sugar Challenge DT
This weeks challenge is

I choose to use the Egg ..

The image said Easter to me,  but i didn't want to use the usual colours related to Easter...
pastel shades.  The area of the Egg is quiet big, and didn't like to shade it.
So i decided to zen-tangle the image.

I used a fine black pen to complete the Zen-tangle,
I used amethyst  & leaf green pro-markers to colour the tulip and leaves.

Once complete i mounted it onto a piece of black card, and mounted it on to a purple card.

I never imagine it would turn out like this when i first looked a the image,
but now i like it and feel it could be used for  other occasions as well as Easter.

Hope you like my creation

Delicious Doodles Fairy Fae

The challenge over at Creative moments this week was

Delicious Doodles  / Anything Goes

"Fairy Fae"  has butterflies in it,  so i decide to focus on butterflies.

The colours I decided to use where  mainly browns,
and then I choose blue for the butterflies.

Colours used :
Skin :  Vanilla ,  Satin & Almond
Hair :  Raw Sienna, Tan & Tawny Owl
Butterflies:  Azure, Sky blue & Powder blue.

I coloured the image and then took a sheet of clue card,
and cut a frame using Tonic Butterfly border punch.

I then added it on to a white card blank.
I was going to put a sentiment on it,  but felt it
distracted  the focus in the lovely Delicious Doodles image

I also thought it would look lovely mounted in a frame...  but i don't have one at hand to use !

I hope you like this one.
